Play!

Today's class experience with play was refreshing.  Time is spaced far too greatly between hand building/creating sessions for me currently.  The structure of the paper sculpture activity hit on the ideas of play, fear, permanence, quantity vs. quality (of difference), time, and more!  I couldn't help but think of the types of conversations I could have with my students as they complete similar activities.

The ideas of trust, fear, and play have become prominent in my mind as of late.  I'm leaning towards these ideas being crucial for the beginning of the year and setting the culture within the classroom.
